Welcome to a Folk Music home page.
There is an explosion of information about folk music on the net and this site will try to cover the depth and breadth of it. It primarily provides an organized set of pointers to other pages but does include some original material.
This website has been up for about 10 years (ancient in web terms). The site has evolved over the years but its organization is much the same. Most of the links have now been provided by you, the readers of this site. For that I thank you.
New! You can reach this page with a shorter, simpler URL/address: folk.jg.org is now the same as www.jg.org/folk/folkhome.html.
Feedback is welcome.

If you have any folk-related information (if you consider it related that's good enough for me--I don't believe in making category judgements) please send it to me and I'll include it in one form or another.
Answers to Questions: Having a web site doesn't make me an authority on folk music but many people send me questions anyway. I would guess that I can answer 1 out of every 20 I receive. Not a very good average. Rather, I suggest that people send their questions to the newsgroup rec.music.folk. There are many readers of that group and many know a lot more than me.
